My Excel certification is just one example of my technological skills gained throughout college. Below is my Excel certification, acquired after taking EBTM 250 and 251. This means I have successfully demonstrated the competencies required for being a certified Microsoft Office Specialist. I have also completed multiple LinkedIn Badges for other software like G Suite, Adobe, and more that can be found here. ​                                                                   

These certifications and badges are significant to me because technology is becoming universally used in the business world. In order to be an effective and efficient force in today's world one must know how to use technology to their advantage. I am lucky enough to have had experience in ​Microsoft Office as early as 4th grade, and Google Suite throughout high school. I selected this particular certification because I am very confident in my Excel capabilities, and have used them to compile, organize, and illustrate data sets in both my internships as well as for personal organization. I was initially intimidated by Excel because all of the functions can be daunting, but now knowing how to use them I can see how essential it is to know for business and personal purposes. This has helped me show others how to use the program and make tedious tasks able to be finished in minutes.                         

I have seen the potential in learning Excel for my career and hope to be able to use it frequently to keep fresh on the program. I think in HR especially, there are many reports and data sets that have to be organized and configured that relies on the efficient use of Excel. In both of my internships I have used Excel and been able to make processes more efficient (for example making company emails from a list of first and last names). Employers have valued the ability to adjust to and learn technology since these advances were beginning. I am able to be ahead of the curve and even help my mentors and managers create spreadsheets faster, which speaks to my ability to learn quickly and utilize my skills.
